Who are we - and what do we do?
We are a sound recording facility and specialise in making audio recordings on location - at concerts or recording sessions - but we offer many other services as well, as you will find by reading on.
I'm Mike McMillan , sound engineer, maintenance bod, cleaner and invoice clerk; I started the company in the early seventies when we used analogue recording equipment. In more recent years, digital recording has taken over in the sound world; these days we record straight to a SADiE LRX2 digital hard disc system. I'm only one member of the team and, as there can be a great deal of setting up to do before the recording session can start, I am very pleased and lucky to have the support of:
Hazel
At my right hand is my assistant engineer and head of transport, Hazel; Hazel has completed her BTech. National Diploma in 'Music Technology' at Reading College and her HND in Music Production and now has a BA (Hons) Music Production. (Thames Valley University, Reading Campus) Much valuable experience has been gained and she is a great asset to the business! Hazel also works at Reading College, King’s Road, Reading as she provides technical support to keep the Campus Radio (Blast 1386) on the air. And, not being one to sleep (she says that sleeping is very over-rated), Hazel also runs another Radio Station in her 'spare' time! Hug Radio is the new community Radio Station for Bracknell. Chris
The chances are that if you ring us, you will be greeted by the friendly voice of my wife Chris who will provide you with any non-technical information you may require. Chris is able to provide details of our charges and what services we are able to provide. When technical information is required, then she will normally hand over to me to deal with things.
