A little more information about the services we offer:

Our main field of interest is recording classical material; orchestral, choral, organ recitals and soloist etc. Specialising in recording concerts that are being attended by an audience means that we cannot afford to clutter the stage area with multiple microphones; often, we use just two microphones on the one stand and the rest of the equipment is well out of the way of the audience.

We also record voice work for relaxation programmes we produce, voice overs, recorded messages (such as telephone systems announcements) and training materials etc.

Recording set up at The Royal Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall, London:

We record the annual School's Proms in November; we have been doing this for a few years now. This photo may give you a flavour of the events that we recorded on 8th, 9th & 10th of November, 1999.The recordings were for Video Productions by Black Swan Film and Video  and possibly also for release on CD's later on.

Over the years, we have been replacing and updating the equipment we use; now we have a SADiE LRX2 multitrack recording and editing system and this had an outing to the School Proms in November 2006 ...

...And November 2007

Once the recordings have been made, any editing or tidying up required is done 'in the digital domain' with the aid of SADiE. This, I hasten to add is not my wife or a girlfriend, but the digital editing system we use in conjunction with a PC. SADiE enables us to work on sound recordings and prepare them for transfer to Compact Disc.

There is further information here on the process involved to produce the finished result once we have made the original recording.

Recording Bands:

We don't normally record 'bands'; there are other companies with studios who specialise in this type of work - though we can still help when groups require CD's. to be made from the master they have produced.

How much do we charge?

Our hourly rate for recording and editing work is 30 GBP, Value Added Tax at the current rate must be added to this. This charge covers one engineer and all our 'stock' recording equipment. It is difficult to provide an 'off the cuff' price for a recording commission; there are just too many variables involved; this link may provide you with some guidelines though.

Are we Any Good at the Job?!

If you would be interested in using our services and would like a  free sampler CD of some of our work, please contact Mike and a CD will be on its' way to you.
