Our main field of interest is recording classical material; orchestral, choral, organ recitals and soloist etc. Specialising in recording concerts that are being attended by an audience means that we cannot afford to clutter the stage area with multiple microphones; often, we use just two microphones on one stand and the rest of the equipment is well out of the way of the audience.
The Royal Albert Hall, London:

We have recorded the annual School's Proms in November for a few years; this photo may give you a flavour of the events that we recorded on 8th, 9th & 10th of November, 1999.The recordings were for Video Productions by Black Swan Film and Video and possibly also for release on CD's later on.

Over the years, we have been replacing and updating the equipment we use; now we have a SADiE LRX2 multitrack recording and editing system and this had its' first outing to the School Proms in November 2006.

And then again in November 2007.

Once the recordings have been made, any editing or tidying up required is done 'in the digital domain' with the aid of SADiE. This, I hasten to add, is not my wife or a girlfriend, but the digital editing system we use in conjunction with an iMac. SADiE enables us to work on sound recordings and prepare them for transfer to Compact Disc.
